Tag: Blogging Love

Hello Lovelies!

Today I'm going to do a tag that was created by Kayleigh from CoutureGirl...If  you haven't checked out her blog you HAVE to...She is absolutely amazing and gorgeous and her blogs is one of my absoloute favourites!
I just thought that this tag was such a good idea...it shows peoples personal reasons and likes about blogging. The idea of the tag is to list 5 reasons you love blogging, your blogging aim, your top blogging tip and the name of a blogger that you feel inspired by...so here it goes!!..

Reasons why I love blogging

1. Relaxation
After a stressful day I love nothing more than getting my make up out and taking pictures and swatches and just sitting back with my laptop and typing away to my hearts content,

2. Inspiration
This one I stole from Kayleigh...but I think blogs are such a good way of finding honest reviews about products and hearing about new products that maybe I wouldnt hear about any other way.

3. Freedom
I love the fact that my blog is my blog. I get to write my own honest opinion and write about what I want. Its a good way of keeping memories too like if I want to write about going on holidays or going to a concert I can and then maybe in the future I can look back on this...kind of like a photo album type thing!

4. The People
I love how nice everyone has been to me on my blog..I always get lovely comments and even some people that I know in real life have told me that they like reading my blog. Theres nothing better than getting a comment on something that you have written from someone telling you that they've really enjoyed reading your post.

5. Reason to Keep buying Make-Up
By having my own blog it can always be my go-to excuse for buying more make up than I need...(but they're mostly essentials I swear!!) But I really do love buying and trying out new make up and as sad as it sounds sometimes I don't want to ruin the pretty packaging by actually using the make up but taking pictures of the products make me feel slightly better about the whole thing!

Blogging Aim-
My blogging aim is to continue enjoying blogging as much as I am today..and hopefully make some new friends along the way!

Blogging Tip-
My blogging tip is to read and talk to lots of different bloggers, you can get inspiration from anywhere and do be sure to let them know that you've enjoyed their post because as I've said before it feels good when someone comments on something that you have put effort and time into writing saying that they've enjoyed it!

Blogger Who Inspired Me-
Funnyily enough the blogger who inspired me to start my own was Kayleigh herself! I had been reading other peoples blogs before I discovered hers but once I seen her's it really was inspiration to me that I could do that too!..I admire her writing style, her fashion sense..and when she followed my blog & twitter..I may have squealed with excitement a bit! Thank you Kayleigh!

So thats the tag everyone...I tag you all to do it! Please leave a link to your post if you do do it down below or on Kayleighs page..I'm sure she'd love to read them! :)

Sleek Contour Kit

Hello Lovelies!

I had to share this with you because I have finally gotten my hands on something I have been searching for for months!
When I was in Belfast I was looking specifically for this but of course they were sold out of the light shade (tear) so I caved in and bought it online which actually including postage worked out cheaper that it would have been for me to buy it in the shop.. Bargain!

I suppose I better show you what it is I'm talking about hmmmmmm?...

Its the Sleek Contour & Highlight Kit!

I have only recently started to dabble in the world of contouring & highlighting..but I love it! and I have found so many good reviews about it so I kind of figured it would be a good one for a beginner..and I was searching for ages for a matt bronzer which is actually alot harder than I would have thought!!

So far I love it..I apply the contour with my Real Techniques contour brush and the highlight with my finger where I want on my face!

So all in all really happy with this product..and also appriciated the little instruction sheet that came with it for how to use..perfect for a contour beginner!

Inglot Purchase

Hello Lovelies!

I was up in Dublin on Tuesday for the night and on the way back home I popped into Liffey Valley shopping centre to have a quick browse..I had actually had forgot that there was an Inglot in Liffey Valley and when I seen it I got exxxxtremely excited!

As I said before I live out in the sticks and I am surrounded by green fields & cows...so Inglot is pretty much non-existent where I live...so this was my first Inglot experience! Yay!

I got one of the "Freedom" Pallets and I decided to go for neutrals because I knew that way I would get the use out of them. This cost me €30 which I thought was pretty good for a pallet of 4 highly pigmented eye shadows.

First off I am in love with the magnet packaging...its so sleek and unusual looking..I don't have anything similar to this in my make up collection!

The pigmentation in these eye shadows are just out of this world!! They blend like a dream and when I was talking to the sales girl (who was sooo lovely & helpful) she said that I'll probably never change to another eyeshadow brand again and I can see her being right!

Colours L-R..Cream 355..Bronze Shimmer 405..Dark Brown 329..Medium Brown 337

L'oreal Lumi Magique Primer

Hello Lovelies,
I just wanted to share with you a product that I have been loving lately!..and it is the L'oreal Lumi Magique Primer.

My mum actually bought this in New York when she went there in March but she never used it...so I selflessly took the poor thing in and gave it a home.
I absolutely love primers..I think that they are essential if you expect or want your make up to last a long time. But this one is different to any that I have tried before..It has a very watery consistency but it left my skin feeling so hydrated compared to alot of others that I have tried that have dried my skin out.
It is marketed to give you a glowy completion and you can mix it into your foundation to give yourself a healthy glow or I used a tiny bit of it as a highlighter on my brow bone.

One thing I would say about this primer is that it does create alot of flash-back...so I wouldn't recommend this for the likes of your wedding day or a special occasion where there would be alot of pictures taken...We all want to avoid that ghost face look!

It is available online HERE or from L'oreal stands.

MaxFactor Fantasy Fire Nail Polish

Hello Lovelies!

This is a nail polish that I have waited MONTHS to get my hands on...since I live in the black hole of nowhere its extremely hard to get more recent products or find a wide variety of any one brand which makes me sad! But when I recently went to Belfast & walked into the Boots up there,..it was like heaven on earth for me and when I found this nail polish I may have eeeeep'd a little bit!

I think it was around the £4.99 mark.

I was slightly disappointed with this nail polish...to get the exact colour that was shown in the bottle I needed to apply 4 layers onto my nail...and of course since I had such an amount of nail polish on my nail it chipped within the first day! I will say it is an absolutely gorgeous nail polish...the colour is so unusual I couldn't begin to describe it...so despite its flaws I am really glad I bought it!

What's in My Bag

Hello Lovelies!

I have been wanting to do this tag for aaaages! I love watching these tags on YouTube but since I'm not brave enough to film a tag I decided to do it on my blog!
So this is my handbag...its one of my most used bags (and I do have a slight obsession with handbags!) I love the shape, the colour and the way it hangs off my shoulder..the one thing I'm not so fond of is the metal clasp or clip on the front is extremely loud and not at all subtle...

I got my bag nearly two years ago from Debenhams for about €40.

Soooo here is what is in my bag! I'm fairly tidy in my bag, I just hate clutter and rubbish so I tend to clean it out as much as I can,..(saddo)

Top(L-R) Knorr QuickSoup(Incase I starve at work), Soap & Glory Hand Food, Hair Brush, Nail File, Deodorant, Headphones, Sunglasses,
Bottom(L-R) My Diary, My Purse, Hair pins, Euphoria Roller Ball, an empty Smarties tube..

If you have done this tag on your blog please link it below because I'm incredibly nosey and would love to check them out!

The Titanic Experiance

Hello Lovelies!

Recently my family & me took a little trip to Belfast to visit the new Titanic centre that had newly opened to commerate the 100 year anniversary of the Titanic.
I have always been really interested in the story of the Titanic so this was right up my street. The building itself was in the shape of the front of the ship (although if you ask me it resembled an iceberge too!)
Its a self guided tour around the centre taking you through alot of the steps of the Titanics life- the building, the journey, the sinking and the after-math.
It was an amazing experiance and I learnt so much, it was also extremely sad to read about these people who had just boarded this ship never expecting it to be their last journey ever...

A very dark me!

Some quick snaps I took on my phone...sorry about the quality!

Newspaper Nails Tutorial

Hello Lovelies!

I recently tried out a new type of make up art...I'm absolutely obsessed and have been known to paint my nails every second day..(I get bored really easily)

So I did the "Newspaper Nails" look, and it turned out really cool and it was so easy to do!

What you will need:

  1. A nude or pastel nail-polish
  2. A clear topcoat
  3. Finger nail sized strips of paper
  4. Vodka

What to do:
  1. Paint your nails with your chosen shade (Lighter colours work best for this!) and wait until it is completely dry!
  2. Then take your little glass of vodka and dip one of your nails in it making sure to get your nail fully wet.
  3. Take one of your strips and place it firmly on the nail for 30 seconds making sure that it doesn't move
  4. Gently peel off the strip and you should see the print of the paper left on your nail
  5. Finish up with a layer of top coat and your good to go!

Soooo simple! If you try this out let me know how you get on!

Belfast Make-Up Haul

Hello Lovelies!

I thought I would just share with you the make up that I purchased while I was in Belfast...and let me just tell you that Belfast is like heaven compared to where I live. My Boots would fit in a tiny corner of the one in Belfast & I don't have the pleasure of having a Superdrug or a MAC counter near me...although..that actually might not be such a bad thing, especially for my bank balance!

MAC's Hue & Creme Cup

Barry M's Berry Ice-Cream, Rasberry & Clear.
MaxFactor Fantasy Fire & Essie Lapis of Luxury

Illamasqua's "Sob" Cream Blush
Sleek "Life's a Peach" Blush

MAC Pro Pallet
Arena, Swiss Chocolate & Carbon

Real Techniques Core Collection

So as you can see I did go a little crazy...but I am completely head over heals with my new purchases...the Real Techniques brushes are sooooo soft and I can't wait to add to my MAC pallet!

My Most Worn...

I've seen this tag floating around for awhile both on YouTube and on different blogs..I think its a really interesting tag just to see what peoples favourite items are.

MY MOST WORN

LIPSTICK

MAC's Shy Girl..such a pretty peachy nude...I wear it almost every day. IN.LOVE.WITH.IT!

EARRINGS

These are a fairly recent purchase from Topshop,..but I have worn them more than I have any other pair of earrings that I own..(I forgot to photograph these so sorry about that picture!)

TOP

I just adore this t-shirt..The colour is the most gorgeous shade of red (the picture really doesn't do it justice) I bought it in New York about two years ago and it has been a staple in my wardrobe ever since!

NAIL POLISH

I love love LOVE mint on my nails..it looks amazing with a tan,.this one by Rimmel (500 Peppermint) has a lovely formula and lasts for ages.

SHOES

I kind of cheated for this one because we have such weird weather in Ireland...so I have some "Nice Weather" shoes and some "Irish Weather" Shoes.

These are my better weather shoes..they just go with everything, I actually got them in Pennies(Primark) for about €5 in the sale.. BARGAIN!

And these are my everyday Irish weather shoes..even though they're boots. As you will probally notice from the pictures..I have literally worn these to death..they are so comfy and if they ever eventually die completely on me...I'll be heartbroken!

HAIR PRODUCT

I always try and use some form of heat protectant on my hair..purely to get rid of the guilt of using a straighteners, curlers, hair dryer on my hair...Plus this Aussie one smells devine!

PERFUME

Calvin Kleins Eurphoria..My go to perfume..such a gorgeous scent. I always feel glamorous and grown up with it on!

HANDBAG

I literally can not say how much I love this handbag...I bought it on eBay for less than a tenner and if I'm going by cost per wear I'd be in minus figures now! Its perfect for the day and going out also.

Hope you enjoyed this tag...If you've done it or decide to do it please leave a link below because I love reading them! :)

What's in my Travel Make-Up Bag

Hello Lovelies!

So I think I mentioned in a previous post that I'm going to Belfast this weekend with my family to see the Titanic exhibition. We're only going for one night but I still haven't a clue what to bring and the only thing I have prepared is my make up bag...so I just thought I would show you what is in it!.

So my make-up bag is actually really old..my boyfriend got it for me for Christmas about 4 years ago. Its a really cool Revlon one with make up print all over it. The reason I love it is because it actually fits so much in it and still with room to spare!

So what I'm actually bringing with me is:-

My Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, Garnier Essentials Hydrating Day Care, Rimmel Fix & Protect primer, MAC Studio Sculpt in NW20, Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in number 2 Light, Natural Collection Pressed Powder in Neutral, YSL Touche Eclat, Sleek Blush in Rose Gold, Rimmel Kohl pencil in Jet Black, Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in Hazel, Loreal SuperLiner Carbon Gloss, Catrice Eye-shadow Base, My Naked pallet, NARS duo in Isolde, Benefit "They're Real" mascara, Maybelline Falsies mascara, MAC "Shy Girl" and Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in shade 20, and finally my St Tropez wash off tan & the skin illuminator.

Now..I didn't think it was alot of stuff...and even in the picture it doesn't look like a massive amount of things..but when I was writing all that out...it took me longer than expected!

Talk to you soon everyone!

May Favourites

Hello Lovelies!

My first favourites post...oh the excitement of it all!..and the promptness of it! 1st day of June and look at me all prepared!

Anyways...I shall get on with it!

So these are my favourites!

1. Garnier Summer Body.
This is a gradual self tan...and I've never really gotten along with these sorts of products (picture lots of streaks and one frustrated person!) but this one is amazing! It smells delish and has not streaked on me once..*touch wood*

2. Soap & Glory Flake Away
This stuff is a miracle worker! It leaves my skin super soft and ready for tan!..plus it smells like Miss Dior Cherie which I adore!!

3. Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic
I got this as a sample when I ordered my Cleanse and Polish..and what a little beauty this turned out to be! It just leaves my skin feeling & looking amazing when used in conjunction with the Cleanse & Polish and I'm thinking another order from Liz Earle will be made shortly!

4. Argan Oil
My friend gave this to me not too long ago after raving about how much her hair has improved from using it...and oh my. It has worked wonders on my poor frazled mess I call my hair. I even put it on my hair extentions and it worked a treat.

5. Sleek Blush in Pixie Pink
This blush looks absolutely TERRIFYING in the pan...but fear not! When applied it gives the most gorgeous colour and I have worn this practically every day this month!
