Sleek Contour Palette

Contouring has really blown up over the past couple of months again, with lots of different companies releasing their versions of a contour palette. Cream contouring seems to be one of the biggest versions of contouring at the moment but also one of the most difficult to master. Sleek have released an "all cream" contour palette and its gotten a lot of hype online. I picked it up because I thought it would be a good starter into the world of cream contouring. Cream contouring isn't something I have ever done too much in the past. I've always thought it was too messy and it was always a bit of a risk doing it when I was already happy with my base. But when I spotted this from Sleek I thought it looked really simple to use and everything needed was there. The kit comes in three shades, light, medium and dark. I went for the light one, because even though I wear a good bit of fake tan, I am naturally very fair and I wanted to be able to use it both ways.

First impression of the palette was that the creams were a lot softer than I expexted. They have a very liquid consistency which makes them very easy to apply and blend, without looking or feeling cakey on the skin. The way I have been using it has been to use the first shade on the top row which has a yellow tint to it, under my eyes to brighten and get rid of my dark circles. I then use the third shade on the top row to highlight any areas I want, such as the bridge of my nose, cheekbones and a bit on the centre of my forehead. I then use a mixture of the second and third shades on the bottom to contour. I put it on the tops of my forehead, under my cheekbones, jawline and  sometimes I put a little down the sides of my nose.

I have used both a brush and a make-up sponge to blend the product out and it works equally well with both. The brush gives a more dramatic look while a sponge gives a more sheer finish. Once set with a translucent powder the product doesn't budge. It makes such a difference and really comes across well in photos. It just gives your face a little bit of extra dimension and brightening to your face. If you are looking to start of in the cream contouring world, or would like a handy kit that has everything together this one is perfect.

It is available from Boots online here for €13.99.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette

You may (or may not!) have noticed that it has been a while since my last blog post. So far I haven't posted anything this month and I didn't do a monthly favourites for April. Life just got a little busy and to be honest I wasn't putting as much time and effort into my blog or beauty things in general in the last few weeks. But I am back, I feel like I have my mojo back and I have a few new exciting products that I can't wait to review for you over the next few weeks! The first one is something I have been dying to get my hands on since the preview pictures started popping up on Instagram a few months ago. If you had shown me this palette a year or two a go, it would never have been one that I would jump for. I used to be all about the cooler tones in my eyeshadows and would never touch a warm toned palette. But ever since I started using Urban Decay's Riff, I have fallen in love with the warmer tones and have been using them pretty consistently since. So when I first seen this palette, it looked absolutely perfect for my new warm-toned obsession.

This was available on Debenhams.ie which is where I purchased it from, and the delivery was pretty quick. It took about three working days to arrive via courier which isn't bad considering I thought it would be much longer to be fair. I was so excited when I finally got my hands on it, I had to be so restrained because I had to be a typical blogger and photograph it before swatching...which was so painful!First thing you notice about this palette is the smell...yes it smells like peaches! This is the first palette I have gotten from Too Faced and I think it's really cool that they have added fragrance to their products to match the names. I was a bit worried that this would irritate my eyes but so far so good, and I haven't had any problems! This palette is every warm eyeshadow lovers dream. It contains 18 shadows that all compliment each other and that could work together beautifully. There is a mix of matte, shimmer, and one slightly glittery shade along with a nice decent sized mirror.

I was in love with these shadows at first swatch. I have never useed anything like these before, and they are totally worth the money. The shadows are so unbelievably soft and blend-able it is unreal. Along with being amazingly pigmented makes them one of my favourite eyeshadows ever. The quality of is palette is so high that I can see why so many people rave so much about Too Faced. They blend so easily together and the colour combinations that are included make it so easy to create any sort of eye look that you want. I have used this for both work and nights out and it really does make it so easy to go from one to the other. This has been the palette I have reached for the most so far this month and I can confidently say that it will make an appearance in my monthly favorites.

If you can get your hands on one of these palettes I would 100% recommend that you do. The shadows are amazing quality and the colours are so on trend and would suit so many people!
