October Favourites

Hello Lovelies!

Check me out getting my October favourites in on time for once! Go me! I'm loving that the evenings are slightly darker, I think its really cosy and lovely...I'm not looking forward to the rain/snow though! Pluuuus its Halloween today! Happy Halloween everyone!

My first favourite this month is a nail polish I'm sure you are all sick of hearing me going on about, yes yes you guessed it...it's Essie's Bahama Mama. I have been wearing this colour pretty much the whole month of October. I love the formula, the colour, the brush , everything about it and I know it's going to be a firm favourite for a long time yet!

Next is a sneaky purchase I made during the month, it was on a wishlist I did not too long ago and I eventually decided to just go for it. It is the gorgeous rose gold chunky chain necklace from ASOS. I am obsessed with rose gold as you all know, it's one of my favourite things this year. I have worn this necklace with so many different outfits, with a wooly jumper to a LBD on a night out. I love it so much, plus it's not as heavy as it looks which is always a plus!

Another purchase I made at the beginning of the month were these converse dupes from Pennies/Primark. They were €7 and I thought well...it would have been wrong to leave them behind right? I was originally going to buy the real Converse in this gorgeous burgundy colour but when I seen the price tag I wasn't too keen so these were the perfect replacement! I love them, I have worn them almost every day to work and they are so comfy!

Now my next favourite is a lipstick that I have had for nearly six months now but never really reached for it  all that often. It's MAC's Creme Cup. I find over the past few weeks that I have been reaching for this over my beloved Hue from MAC. I like having a coloured lip but for everyday at work a bright red is not always so appropriate. It's a gorgeous baby pink and just gorgeous! Love love LOVE!

Bit of a random favourite is my iPhone case, I got this off a Groupon offer from PhotoBox.ie. I got to choose the picture I wanted in it. Delivery was really quick and the quality of the case is excellent too! I've gotten so many compliments on it when I'm out and about, I love the idea of having a personalised phone case because you know it's something that no-one else has!

And finally a favourite You-Tuber of the month is DramaticMac. This girl is amazing! She's from Ireland, and she is absolutely beautiful! She has amazing taste and always gives brilliant opinions on products. She's one of those You-Tubers you can imagine being your friend. She's just so lovely and speaks like she is just chatting away to her friends. Go subscribe! Her YouTube is here and her twitter is here so you can follow her too!
Hope you enjoyed reading about my favourites and I hope you have a great Halloween!

What's in my Bag | Autumn Edition

Hello Lovelies!

I've actually already done a whats in my bag but I adore these kinds of posts and videos, and since the contents of my handbag are completely different to my other handbag (the bag itself has even changed) I thought I would use it as an excuse to do another one of these posts!

I got my handbag last year, I bought it off eBay...and yes it is the bag that everybody and their dog has..the Alexander Wang knock-off. I think I paid about €25 altogether for this and for the quality of the bag and the amount of times, I've used it I think it's well worth it! I think its kind of a classic style of bag that I will get to use for alot of years. I also like the size of it. Its big enough but not too big that I'd be lugging around half my house in it!

I haven't cleaned out my bag in ages and even though this isn't a video and you can't actually see me pull the stuff out, I thought I would be 100% honest with all the embarrassing things I carry around with me because I think that is the beauty of these kinds of posts.

Firstly and possibly the most important thing in my bag is my phone, I wouldn't leave the house without it! Next (equally as important) is my purse...more than likely it's full of reciepts instead of money!
I always carry a water bottle around with me in the hopes that I will start drinking some more water, trying to lead a healthy lifestyle and all that! Next is my diary, I have to write all my dates & times down because I WILL forget! I actually won this diary in a Stellar Magazine competition at the start of the year and I'm a little sad that it's coming to the end. Kind of in relation to that I have no less than three pens in my bag...a girl needs to be prepared!
The next thing I always have with me is an umbrella. Kind of self explanatory, Irish weather..enough said!

I carry around hand sanitizer with me at all times too, along with Soap & Glory's Hand Food which smells delicious!
I got my blood pressure taken the other day so I have random leaflets about that in my bag too which will probably be there for quite some time! Another leaflet is about my new debit card I got the other day. I've never had one before so I'm sensing this could be quite dangerous!!
I don't really carry around too many make-up items with me any more, I have my trusty MAC Hue lipstick, a Rimmel black kohl liner and my Calvin Klein Euphoria rollerball perfume. I also have a little brush kit that I got off Avon years ago! A packet of tissues is also a must, a nail file and a mini hair brush! I have two lipbalms, the famous Carmex and a Lipsmacker in Coca Cola flavor..yummy!

Random things in the bottom of my bag include a packet of chewing gum, a packet of tissues, a blister pad, a lollipop, receipts from Boots (oops!) and random change!

And yes I did just throw everything back into my bag once I was finished going through it...cleaning that is definitely a job for another day!

Bioderma Review

Hello Lovelies!

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you will have seen my most recent purchase. After much delebration I decided to bite the bullet and dabble in the micellaire water world.

I have been thinking about buying this for months now but I kept putting it off because of the price and of how hard it was to get in Ireland/UK. I ended up going on eBay and paying €25 (ouch!) for the 500ml bottle.

Since receving it I have used it at least once a day. I normally would use it in the evenings, soaked on a cotton pad and cleaning off my eye make up. I find its amazing for removing waterproof eye make-up (which I've had to start using but more on that later!) so I don't find myself having to use as much of my Liz Earle which I love but like to save! I also like to use it before I apply my make up in the mornings, just again on a cotton pad and sweeping all over my face!

I love this for three reasons..One it is very gentle. Lately I've been breaking out alot more than I normally would and this cleanser doesn't irriate my skin or make me break out at all which is always a plus! Two it does an amazing job at removing my eye make up which always seems to be the part of my make up that needs a little bit more work. It removes my waterproof mascara and eyeliner too! And finally three it's so handy! I know we all have those days where we get home and crawl into bed and then think Uhhh I forgot to take my make up off. Like I said just pour abit on a cotton pad and clean my face.

Would I repurchase this? As amazing as I think it is I don't think I'd be able to pay another €25 for it...If I was going to France or knew somebody that was I'd definitely repurchase but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it again. It is an amazing idea and I will be trying out different brands for their micellaire waters because I think it is an amazing addition to my skin care routine!

Shopping the Stash

Hello Lovelies!

I have seen these kinds of posts floating around for quite a while now and I think they are an amazing idea to re-introduce some products back into your life that you may have forgotten about. And since I'm hoping to go on abit of a spending ban coming up to Christmas I felt it would be the perfect time to do my first Shopping my Stash post!

First up is the ever so famous Urban Decay NAKED pallet. When I first got this I was literally obsessed. I couldn't go a day without using it and I could create so many different looks just with this one pallet. But since I've been building up my make up collection, and acquiring many more different pallets and eye-shadows my poor NAKED pallet has wound up at the back of a drawer slightly forgotten about.

Next is the Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer I bought towards the beginning of the year, used for a little while and then forgot about. It's not that I didn't like it, I did but I moved on to different concealers and never really went back to it. I love the salmon-y colour for under-eye circles. I find the blemish concealer slightly too yellow for me but I'll definitely be trying to make it work for the next while.

Now this is actually a product I've never even bothered to try. I honestly don't even remember buying this but I'm excited to give it a go. I'm quite the mascara hoarder. I love trying out new mascara's but alot tend to get forgotten about (especially this one which has never been opened! Ooops!) I'll let you know how I get on with this one!

And finally is a foundation I used to be OBSESSED with and it again had gotten forgotten about under the masses of foundations I own. I've started using it alot more recently and have re-kindled my love for it. It's a fuller coverage foundation than what I have been wearing lately, but coming into Winter I think this is what I will be going for. They only thing I'm not loving is the smell...ick!

So those are the products I will be using alot more in the coming weeks..who knows, some of them could end up in my favourites at the end of the month if all goes well!

Favorite Nail Polishes | Autumn/Winter

Hello Lovelies!

As you all know I'm completely obsessed with nail polishes, so I thought it was only appropriate to show you some of my favorite nail polishes for the Autumn/Winter months!

So firstly this is a nail polish that I picked up last winter but didn't get much wear out of. Lately though I've been loving it and I think I will be getting alot of wear out of it this Autumn/Winter. It's a Revlon one named Facets Of Fuchsia. This was originally a limited edition polish but because it turned out to be so popular Revlon added it to their permanent range! It is quite a vampy/gothic polish. It has a black jelly base and then it has big and small chunks of purple glitter through it. I would use a plain black polish under it just so it doesn't take so many layers to build up the colour and the look I want.

Next up is a colour I absolutely adore wearing on my nails through the colder months and it is 17's Midnight Sapphire. This is literally a deep midnight navy colour (excellent name choice there 17!) It takes about two layers to become opaque which is fantastic and the colour is sooooo gorgeous, a nice change to black nail polish which I also like but get abit bored with.

This is a nail polish I bought over the Summer but I think that it can work for Autumn/Winter also. It's Catrice's Genius in a Bottle (Love the name!) It's a gorgeous duo-chrome nail polish, it's quite a petrol/oil spill look nail polish. It looks amazing with a tan. I have worn it quite a bit in the Summer but I'm looking forward to wearing it more over winter!

Another nail polish I picked up last year at the end of Winter and didn't get much wear out of because I started wearing more Springtime-y colours on my nails. It's Rimmel's Beige Babe, which looks really boring in the bottle. It's basically just a brown nail polish but it looks a-mazing on the nails. Its a really shiney formula and I just think it's really different and unusual! Brown/Beige nail polish has been going round quite alot this past year, I've been eyeing up Chanel Frenzy for quite awhile now but I think I'll stick with my trusty Rimmel for awhile longer!

Now for a bit more of a Christmassy colour, it's Barry M's Red Glitter. I love the Barry M glitter polishes, I think they have amazing colours in the range, the quality is amazing (you only need about two coats and your nail is covered in glitter!) and they are cheap as chips! Nothing says Christmas to me more than a bit of red glitter so this will defiantly be out alot over the Christmas weeks! (Which I'm already excited for!!)

You will have seen this next polish about a million times before, it is the gorgeous Essie's Bahama Mama. I have raved about this since I've gotten it. Very rarely have I ever taken a nail polish off because it was chipped and repaint my nails in the exact same colour again. But with this I must have done it about five or six times so far! I love this colour so so much! Despite the ridiculous price tag (€12..ow!) I will be repurchasing it!

And finally no Autumn/Winter nail polish collection would be complete without abit of Barry M's Red Black. The name describes it perfectly. It's the darkest red nail polish I have ever seen and I have gotten so much wear out of this already. Yes it is slightly similar to Bahama Mama but they are different enough to both include in this post..I swear!

So those are my choices for nail polishes for the Autumn/Winter months, I have no doubt that I will be adding to this list before the season's are over! I definitely have a problem!

Nail Polish Haul!

Hello Lovelies,

Yes I was in Boots during the 3 for 2...damage was done let me tell you! But as I keep saying it would have been wrong not to take advantage of it right?

So as you can see I have finally dived into the Model's Own world of nail polish. I picked up two bottles, Utopia and one of the Mirrorball collection called Boogie Nights. So far I have only used the Boogie Nights over another colour and I really liked it. I found it took awhile to dry but it was definitely worth it, I've never had a glitter polish like this before.

Next I've heard so much about the new Barry M Gelly Hi Shine nail paints, and been a huge Barry M fan I had to pick up one. I chose the colour Blood Orange, which to me looks alot more of a red than an orange. I am still to use this but I adore the colour and have heard nothing but good things about them so I'm sure I will love it!

Randomly the next polish just caught my eye as I was browsing the aisles. Miss Sporty wouldn't be a brand I would normally go to for nail polish, even though I do own some other colours and adore them. This is a gorgeous vibrant lilac colour. I have used this one and it looks amazing with a tan, dries quick and has a fan brush which makes application soooo much easier!

And finally the Essie stand was hit...now it could have been soooo much worse! I feel I was quite well restrained.

The first colour I picked up, I was a little (a lot) disappointed with. I thought I was repurchasing Mint Candy Apple but this was actually in the Mint Candy Apple space. It is called Turquoise & Caicos which isn't all that different from Mint Candy Apple but I'm abit sad that it wasn't what I thought it was.

But the next colour you will all have heard me rave about before. It is called Bahama Mama and I have done a seperate blog post on this beauty here. It is definitely my go-to nail polish for Autumn/Winter.

So that is my little nail polish from Boots...I will stress again that it was 3 for 2 so it wasn't all bad! What did you buy in the 3 for 2?

Wishlist | Winter Edition

Hello Lovelies!

Yet another wishlist for me but more of a wintery type one since the seasons have changed and all that!
I have been looking for a new winter bag for quite a while now and this one in Zara has been one of my favourites for quite a while but  I can't justify paying the price so I think an eBay copy is a must!
To help me through the winter months a cup of tea is always needed, and I adore this mustache mug! Its soooo cute!
I have been lusting over a Michael Kors rose gold watch for MONTHS! I have the River Island dupe but it's just not the same...but judging on the price of the Michael Kors I will be sticking with my little River Island one for awhile!
The Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour cream has always been something that I've been meaning to pick up but never got around to. Its one of those '"staple" make up bag items that's a great all rounder. For the winter months I think I'll definitely be getting myself one!

I am in love with the animal prints that has been going around lately and I've fallen in love with this shirt from Zara with the french bulldog print on it...and it's mint what more could a girl want?
Yet another thing I've been meaning to pick up is Miss Dior Chere. I LOVE the smell of this, it's such a fresh girly scent. It reminds me of some of the Soap & Glory scents and we all know that I am obsessed with Soap & Glory!!
Continuing on with my latest obsession with Rose Gold I found this chunky chain on ASOS...I think I may have to make a sneaky purchase! I think this could dress up any outfit, and I've been looking for a chunky chain for a while now!
And finally a (not so) winterish boot! I love the fringe trend that is coming in and out of style constantly and I love these cute little booties! These are just a random pair I found on google but I'm hoping to find something similar soon!
I am trying to behave myself coming up to Christmas (yes I'm thinking about Christmas already) and write lists for other people instead of myself....but we'll see how that goes!

Liz Earle | Special Edition

Hello Lovelies!

Recently I posted about Liz Earle bringing out a Limited Edition version of their famous Cleanse and Polish. So me being the Liz Earle fiend that I am, I had to get my hands on it as soon as I could.

I was worried that the formula would have changed and that it would make me break out, but once I read about the new cleanser on the website Liz Earle said that it was still the original formula just with the addition of Lavender & Rose into it.

Now first things first can we take a moment to appriciate the packaging? Pink and Purple and general pretty packaging! It's a nice change from the normal mint and it looks really pretty in my bathroom. A really shallow thing to like in a cleanser but that's me!

On to the actual cleanser itself. There is alot more product in this special edition Cleanse & Polish which makes me feel better about paying the extra few euros, some of which goes towards the Princes Trust, so buying this can be your good deed for the day!

It smells devine, very relaxing for just before bedtime which is when I tend to use it most! It is the exact same formula as the original Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, it still does an amazing job of removing all my make up (water-proof eye make up and all!)

I would have to say I do prefer the original just slightly but this is always nice for a change.
If you are interested in trying out this new type (plus it's for charity!) it's available on the Liz Earle website for €23.50!

Skin-Care Routine | Autumn/Winter Edition

Hello Lovelies!

Since we have moved into the colder-crisper months I have subconsciously been changing my skin care routine to suit my new needs. I find that my skin becomes very dry and prone to breakouts during the colder months. I'm not sure why this is but dry, spotty skin is not a look I would normally go for so I thought I would show you what I've been doing with my skin recently to try and combat this.

First thing I do is remove my eye make up. For this I have been using my newly purchased Bioderma (yes I caved to the hype!) I just pour a small bit on a cotton pad and gently wipe away my mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow etc. I find it a really gentle, effective way of removing all my eye make up.

Then I do a proper cleanse of my face, for this I use my trusty Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, since I've started using the Bioderma I find that I don't need to use as much product to remove all my make up so one pump of the Cleanse and Polish normally does my whole face. I use a muslin cloth to remove this but I am looking into investing in a Clarasonic! If you have one please let me know if it's worth is as I would love to hear your thoughts!

After my cleanse I always use a toner. At the moment I've been switching between my Liz Earle Instant Tonic Boost and my Boots Glycerin and Rose water toner. I love both of these as much as the other but I find the Boots one abit more moisturising so on nights that I think I need a little bit more moisture and care I apply that one and for every other night I use my Liz Earle.

Finally for moisturising I have switched to the Oilatum Natural Repair Face Cream. I find during the winter my skin gets so unbelievably dry so I've heard that this moisturiser is amazing for dry skin, and I have to say I 100% agree. It's such an amazing rich moisturiser. It does amazingly well at combating my dry skin. I use this for night time because it is more moisturising than my Liz Earle moisturiser which I use for during the day.
Once a week I like to have a deep exfoliation because like I said I find my skin becomes very dry and sometimes abit flakey throughout the winter so for this I use my Vichy Detoxifying Exfoliating Cream.
I'm getting more and more obsessed with my skin care and beginning to invest abit more in it. If you have any recommendations for face masks please leave them below because I'm looking for a new one to try!

Essie | Bahama Mama

Hello Lovelies!

Sorry I've been abit out of the loop with blogging recently, I was kind of lacking inspiration for blog posts and I literally didn't know what to write about. But I've been getting so excited about the change in seasons lately and yes I am one of those annoying people who is counting down to Christmas already...don't shoot me!

Since it has been getting abit colder and darker in the evenings I have been searching for the past few weeks for the perfect Autumnal-Winter nail polish shade. I dabbled in black, navy, metallics and many many deep reds but I found that alot of them just didn't look right with my skin tone. They would make me look alot paler than I am already and that is not a look I'm going for!

I was in Dublin recently and literally pounced on the Essie stand because I don't have Essie anywhere near where I live so I spent a while at it! Also it was 3 for 2..I couldn't pass it up!

I found this gorgeous shade called Bahama Mama. It's not a shade I would normally pick out but it was on the top shelf of the 'most popular' shades of the week or whatever and I kind of picked it up on a whim. (also thought I was picking up Mint Candy Apple but it turned out to be Turquoise & Caicos but in the Mint Candy Apple space..annoying!)

When I got home and painted my nails with this shade I fell in love! It's basically a deep red/burgandy colour and it just screams autumn at me.

I find the formulation perfect, I'd use two coats to get the coverage, colour I want. I've had this on for 3 days so far and I've not got any chips yet! The brush is also something I love! I can't stand the smaller brushes, the new Essie polishes have the 'fan' brushes that just take one swipe and your nail is coated.

I love this colour and I know I will be using this for a long time. I did pay €12.99 which made me die a little inside but I will get the wear out of it...Definitely on the hunt for a dupe though!

Random Beauty Tag

Hello Lovelies!

I decided to do a tag today as I love reading them myself. I think it gives a nice insight to the person behind the blog..although this more of a beauty related tag than a personal one I still really enjoy doing them and I hope you enjoy reading it!

SKINCARE

What is your skin type?
I have normal to combination skin, I tend to get dry down the sides of my nose and more oily on my chin & forehead.

What is your morning skincare routine?
I tend to just splash water on my face in the morning and use my Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser in Normal/Combination for the daytime as I find it nice & lightweight on my skin for under make up.

What is your evening skincare routine?
I use my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish to cleanse my face and to remove all make up. Then I use my Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic toner on a cotton pad all over my face. Finally I use my Oilatum Natural Repair Face Cream.

Do you exfoliate?
Even though when I cleanse with my Liz Earle I'd lightly be exfoliating my skin with the muslin cloth I do like to do a proper exfoliation once a week both on my face & on my body. For my face I use the Vichy Detoxifying Exfoliating Cream and for my body I love the Soap & Glory Flake Away!

What skincare products are on your shopping list?
The Bioderma has been on my to buy list for quite a while and I also really want to try the Liquid Gold that so many people have been raving about!

What is your favourite product that you use?
Definatly my Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish..It is my holy grail cleanser and I literally can not live with out this!

What is your favourite face mask?
I normally just buy the cheapy face masks from Tesco, I'm loving the Montagne Jeunesse in Dark Chocolate at the moment. I got the little bottle of it and it's taking me quite a while to use up!

What moisturiser do you use?
For during the day I like to use the Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser in Normal/Combination, I think its light enough for under my foundation. At night then I like to wear a heavier moisturiser, I love the Oilatum Natural Repair Face Cream its so lovely and thick so it really does the job!

Do you use an eye cream?
No but I'm looking to try one!

Do you or did you have acne prone skin?

When I was younger I used to break out alot but I wouldnt call it acne

How much money are you willing to spend on a skincare product?
As much as I felt needed..I am a skincare fiend and I feel the more I invest in my skin the better it will look.

MAKE-UP

What foundation do you use?
At the moment I'm loving No.7 Stay Perfect Foundation, It's fast becoming my favourite foundation!

What is your favourite concealer?
I love Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection for blemishes and for under my eyes I love the Maybelline Lumi Touch.

Do you know your undertone colour?
I haven't got a clue! I should really find that out!

What do you think of fake eyelashes?
I love them for a bit of drama on a night out but I wouldn't wear them everyday!

Which mascara do you use?
Benefit's They're Real mascara! Couldn't be without it!

What is your favourite MAC product?
I adore the lipstick in Hue! I've repurchased it twice already.

Which brushes do you use?
A mixture really, I have some Real Technique's, MAC and Sigma. I'd love to invest in some more though!

What are your thoughts on primers?
I love them! At the moment I'm using the Rimmel one and I love it!

What is your favorite eyeshadow/palette?

Both! Pencil for my waterline and liquid eyeliner for my flick!

What is your favourite Lipstick?
My MAC Hue!

Do you wear lipgloss?
I've actually started to wear it alot more recently but I never used to be into lipglosses!

Do you prefer bronzer or blusher?
Both! I love the MAC blushers and my NARS Laguna!

Do you like to contour?
Hells yeah! I might not be the best at it though!

Do you use drugstore or high end cosmetics?
A mixture of both really, I'd spend more money on basics like foundation and concealer etc

What's the worst makeup crime you've committed?
I used to go quite heavy on the eyeliner when I was younger...shaaame!

Do you prefer bold or neutral shades?

Again a bit of both, I'd either go bold on the lips and neutral eyes or the other way round!

Which celebrity always has great makeup?
Millie Mackintosh! I love her!

If you could leave the house wearing only one item of makeup, what would you use?I think mascara, lashings of mascara!

Do you think you look good without any makeup on?
I wouldn't say I look good with no make-up but I would get away with not wearing any, I'd just rather not!

What is your favourite makeup brand?
Oh I couldn't possibly choose! I love MAC, Inglot, Maybelline, Benefit...I could go on and on!

Which makeup brand do you think is overrated?
Ummm I don't really know, I like different brands for different things, so I think some items from certain brands may be over-rated but not the whole line!

What's the most you'll spend on an item of makeup?
Again as much as I felt needed...I may begrudge paying it but if it does the job I'll pay what is needed!

If you have done this tag please link it below because like I said I really do love reading these tags!
