What I got for Christmas 2012

Hello Lovelies!

I hope everyone had a happy and safe Christmas. Is anyone else a touch disappointed that it's all over so quickly? The Christmas movies are gone off the television, the Christmas songs gone off the radio, and not even a snowflake to show for it!...Yes I am slightly bitter it didn't snow for Christmas but also slightly glad because it means I can travel with no problems!

I was so grateful for all the lovely gifts I got this year I thought I would write about some of my favourites! I love these kinds of posts, and love seeing what other people got for Christmas (purely because I'm so nosey!) so I hope you enjoy it and don't think it's bragging or showing off, because that it not my intention at all.

I decided to make this a more picturesque post because if I was to write who I got everything from I would be typing forever! I love all my presents so much and am so grateful for everything I got!

My next post will be my make up favourites of 2012...and I am very excited for it!

December Favourites

Hello Lovelies!

I hope you all had a brilliant, relaxing Christmas with your family and loved ones!

I thought I would get my December Favourites out abit earlier this month because I'll either forget completely about them otherwise or do them extremely late next month! I'll also be doing my favourites of the year so you can expect that in the next month or so!

So on with the past months favourites. I've been quite boring this past month and kind of just sticking with the same make up bits everyday, normally I try and change something different each day but this month I've literally looked the same.

Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Body Milk
If you've seen my post from earlier on in the month you'll know I treated myself to the Soap & Glory "Best of All" kit, and this has been on of the stand out products from that set for me. I've been using it every night since I've got it. I'm head over heals in love with the smell which is a gorgeous almond scent. It leaves my skin feeling so moisturised. It is a lighter body moisturiser than the Righteous butter which I also love so I tend to use this more for day to day moisturising and leave the Righteous butter for more deep moisturising nights.

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation
This is a foundation I've been loving over the past couple of months. I bought it when there was a 3 for 2 on in Boots on a whim and have been loving it ever since. I would say it is a light to medium coverage foundation so if you're into fuller coverage face make up I would advise you to steer clear of this! I have it in the shade 100 Ivory (surprise surprise the lightest one there is) and I think it's a brilliant color match when I don't have tan on.  Like I said it is a lighter coverage foundation, so I would wear concealer with it which leads me nicely on to my next favourite...

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
The infamous Collection (formally known as Collection 2000) concealer has been a firm favourite in my make up bag all through out this month too! I've paired it with my Rimmel Match Perfection, to cover up any blemishes and to put on my under eye circles. I think it's the best drugstore there is and I don't think I will ever stray from it. I have it in 01 Fair (yep I am that pale!)

ELF All Over Color Stick
One of the items I bought in my mahoosive ELF haul that I have been using everyday is the All Over Color Stick! I have mine in the shade Pink Lemonade which leaves a natural flush of color on the cheeks. I use my Real Techniques Stippling Brush to apply this on my cheeks. I have been reaching for this over my powder blushes recently because I have been liking the "Creme" Blush look lately! The only thing I don't like about it is the smell...chocolate orange..blergh!!

Barry M Racing Green
This months nail colour of choice has been Barry M's Racing Green. A gorgeous deep forest green colour. I think this would look amazing on any skin tone. I hadn't actually seen this color at many Barry M stands but I fell in love once I did. I have been layering it with a few glitter polishes on my "bling finger" in the past while too.

Carmex
Something that has been essential to me the past couple of weeks has been my trusty carmex. Now I have heard stories that this isn't meant to be the best thing for your lips but I have blatantly ignored all of them. Without Carmex this month my lips would have been bloody, chapped messes! TMI? It has been my savour throughout the wintery days and I always have to have one with me!

Yankee Candle Vanilla Cupcake
A candle I have been loving is actually my mums. It's the Yankee Candle in Vanilla Cupcake. Apparently this is pretty much the same as "Christmas Cookie" but I haven't been able to get my hands on that yet. I love sweeter candle scents and this is as sweet as it comes! The smell actually does last for ages too!

A|Wear Bow Purse
Random thing thrown in last is my new purse. I had been eyeing this purse in the window of my local a|wear for weeks now but it was the last one left and it had a scratch on the bow, and for €15 I didn't want to pay for something that had been scratched so I decided to look online for it. I found it on the website here for €7.50!! Bargain! So of course I snapped it up and it has been idolised by me ever since!

So there is the last ever monthly favourites this year from me! I'm off now to have Christmas dinner round two which I am very excited about and to stuff my face with chocolates! The diet starts in the new year....I swear!

Soap & Glory Purchase

Hello Lovelies!

I'm sorry for my absence on the interwebs the past couple of days. The work men that were outside a few weeks ago have done something to the phone lines so we have had a dead phone and no internet! At the start of the "no internet" fiasco I was coping quite well but towards the end I was going abit mad and missing the outside world. How sad is it that I have become this dependant on the internet? Not Cool!!!

Anyway guys only 4 more sleeps until Christmas! Excited!! With this in mind I decided to get into the festive season and buy one last present...for myself (oops!)

Yes I went into Boots and bought this little beauty which was on offer for better than half price...It would have been wrong if I didn't!

It's the Soap & Glory Best of All set and you should have seen my excitement when I was buying it!

So this set comes with 9 full size products for €35! Considering that two of the products to buy separately would come to €30. So you can see how I justified making this sneaky purchase for myself!

It comes with a Heel Genius, a Smoothie Star, Clean on Me, Peaches and Clean, Hand Food, Righteous Butter, Sugar Crush Body Scrub, Sexy Mother Pucker (oooh) Lip gloss and a Thick & Fast Mascara.

I haven't tried all these products yet (but you all know I love the Hand Food and the Righteous Butter!) so I wanted to wait before giving reviews on them until I can grow an opinion on them.

I'm not sure if the special offer on the Soap & Glory is still on in Boots, but if you're a fan of Soap & Glory I hope you got your hands on it!

All I Want For Christmas Tag

Hello lovelies!

I do apologize about my constant talk about Christmas but I am soooo excited about Christmas this year it's unnatural haha!

I was on the hunt for a Christmas tag to do for awhile, and when I seen this one on RickyRichardsTV I decided to blog-ify it and give it a go!

1. What's your favourite thing about the holidays?
I think my favourite thing about the holidays has to be the atmosphere that there is. Everyone seems more cheery, the lights are always gorgeous and there's just general happiness and excitement in the air which I really like!

2. Does it snow where you live? If so, do you like it?
Yes it has snowed the past few years where I live for Christmas. I love the snow, I think it is so pretty but where I live is literally in the middle of no-where so I literally get snowed in! So after a couple of days as you can imagine the novelty of snow definitely wears off! I would love it if it snowed on Christmas day and had all disappeared by the next day.

3. Do you or have you been ice skating?
I've never actually been ice skating but I can tell you I wouldn't be very good at it! I can barely walk at the best of times let alone balance on a blade on ice! I'd also be terrified that if I fell over on the ice my fingers would get sliced off..a bit over dramatic I'll give you that but still a possibility!

4. Favourite Christmas movie?
Its got to be Home Alone..or The Santa Clause...both such classics for around Christmas time!

5. Favourite winter drink from Starbucks?
Again since I live in the middle of no-where we don't actually have a Starbucks anywhere near! I know, I practically live in the stone age!

6. Do you believe in Santa?
Of course!

7. Have you ever made a snowman/snow angel?
Yes and have gotten absolutely soaked in the process!

8. Do you have any special family traditions?
We normally do the same thing every Christmas, but we don't have any specific traditions that I can think of!

9. When do you start decorating for Christmas?
About two weeks before we'll put up the tree and the rest of the decorations! It's always so much more fun putting the tree up than taking it down!

10. Favourite Christmas song?
Rocking around the Christmas Tree, All I Want For Christmas Is You (cheesy I know!) and I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday!

11. Will you be under the mistletoe this year?
We don't actually have mistletoe! I don't think it's as popular a tradition here as it is in other countries!

12. What are some of the things you want for Christmas this year?
I don't actually have anything in particular on my list, but I do really want to have a good Christmas day with my family!

13. What's your most expensive item on your wish list?
On my "Things I Will Probably Never Own" wishlist the most expensive would be a Chanel 2.55! Doesn't every girl want one?!

14. What is one thing you don't like about this holiday?
How crazy busy the shops get! I am a small girl and I could quite easily get crushed in ciaos like that!

15. Do you go all out for Christmas decorations?
Not really, we have the Christmas tree, the crib and other traditional decorations. My mum has a "Christmas Village" collection that she adds to every year...its MASSIVE!

16. When do you take down your Christmas decorations?
Around the 6th of January or so.

So there is my Christmas tag! I really enjoyed doing it and if any of you guys do it please leave it below so I can check it out!

Empties #3

Hello Lovelies!

I have been sitting looking at this pile of empty products for well longer than I should be, so I decided to get in gear and get another empties post up so I can finally throw the packaging out and start collecting all over again!

I have been collecting these since I've done the last post so I suppose there is a good few products!

Firstly is this Tresemme hair spray, I literally thought that this bottle was never ending! I've had it so long I can't actually remember when I bought it (great value for money though!) I lost the top for it a long time ago but that didn't affect the product, it was just abit annoying! Overall it was a good hair spray, did the job. Would I repurchase it? Not at the moment just because it took me so long to finish this one I want to give something else a go!

Next is something I must have in most of my empties/favourites posts from before and it is the Hask Argan Oil. This stuff is a god send! I use it every time I wash my hair to make it feel and look healthier! Nothing I don't like about this product, it's Holy Grail material! Would I repurchase it? Yes I already have!

Another Holy Grail item finished and it is my Soap and Glory Hand Food! I have had this one since the beginning of the year and kept it in my hand bag. Considering I use this quite a lot it's lasted quite a while! I love everything about this product, the packaging, the scent, what it does for my hands! It's all good! I think I'll be picking up the full sized one next time! Would I repurchase it? Definitely! Love it!

Another make up item, the L'oreal Super Liner Carbon Gloss. It's been so long since I bought one of these I think they've changed the packaging! This is the best liquid eye liner I've used. I love the foam tip applicator  the formula...everything! This has last me for ages too so it's good value for money! Would I repurchase it? Definitely the next time I'm in Boots!

Finally a hair product I have finished. My trusty Batiste! I couldn't be without this. I use the Brown coloured one so I'm not left with white streaks in my hair which is never a good look! I love the smell of this and I find it works brilliantly. The big cans always last me ages. I think this has been the best dry shampoo I've ever tried. Love it! Would I repurchase it? I will once I run out of the many many back ups I have!

So there's another round of empties done! I can finally throw out all of these things and start on another batch!

Sigma Brush Haul

Hello Lovelies!

Sorry for my absence. I've been so busy lately and I've kind of been lacking blog-spiration too. I just have kind of hit a mental block as for what to write about but I'm hoping to power through!

Also if any of you lovely people know how to get the falling snowflake effect at the top of your blog will you please let me know because I spent awhile googling it the other day but no success what had! Sadface!

Anyway, if you follow me on twitter you will have seen my excitement about Sigma's Black Friday sale where they offered free international shipping! I have loved Sigma's brushes for ages now and had a little list of brushes that I've wanted to get for ages but the cost of the shipping always put me off (Like in my ELF haul, free shipping always gives me the push to make the purchase...oops!) so as soon as I got the email to tell me they had free shipping I was on the website adding the brushes I wanted to my basket and making the purchase! YAY!

The first brush I was eyeing up was the F82 Round Top Kabuki. I think that this brush is very similar to the Real Techniques Buffing Brush which I love and I would defiantly buy another one of them but unfortunately they don't sell it separately and I don't want another one of the sets. So instead I decided to pick this one up to see how it compares. It is abit denser than the Real Techniques brush but it is just as soft, if not more than the Buffing Brush. I'm loving this so far! It's $18 on the website.

The next two brushes are quite similar actually I picked up the E25 Blending Eye Brush and the E35 Tapered Blending Eye Brush. I think the E25 is meant to be a dupe for the MAC 217 brush (I don't actually own this but I have read reviews saying that!) Again these are two of the softest brushes I have ever felt! I love them! I haven't had any problems with shedding with these brushes and from previous Sigma purchases I think that the quality of their brushes are absolutely amazing for the prices! The E25 is $10 and the E35 is $12 on the website.

Also since I spent over $30 on the website Sigma gave me a little freebie which I was really excited about! I got a mini E10 Eyeliner Brush...and it's PINK! I love when companies give a free gift with purchase, I'm so easily pleased!

I would thoroughly recommend the Sigma brushes, I think they are very comparable to the MAC brushes and they are so much cheaper! I just wish that Sigma was more readily available in shops etc!

Butter London | Disco Biscuit

Hello Lovelies!

Yes I know you all probably think I'm crazy with my choice of nail polish as of late...and yes I will admit it's not the most seasonal of colours but I am a compete sucker for a bright nail polish and I couldn't resist not telling you all about it!

I've been lusting after this nail polish ever since I seen it on the lovely Fleur De Force's nails way back at the start of the year. But since Butter London isn't all that readily available near where I live I have been on a hunt ever since. I eventually came across one for sale on eBay and I snapped it up for €6 - Bargain!

I have been wearing this on my nails for the past two weeks constantly and so far I'm loving it. It is literally a gorgeous fushia pink shade and it has very fine blue glitters in it. The finish of this polish is quite sheer so you would need around three or four coats for it to be properly opaque. Since it has the glitter in it this affects the finish you would get, and it is a really unusual finish. It is quite grainy and I'm not really sure how I feel about it yet, but a coat of a decent top coat sorts this out no problem!

(without flash)

I find the lasting power of this nail polish isn't the best, after a day I seen major wear at the tips of my nails, but I do work in an office where I'm typing most of the time so to some of you this may not be a big deal but it was abit disappointing for me because I did need to keep topping it up.

But over all I have fallen completely head over heels for this polish! I have never seen anything like it in the shops and even though it's not the most festive of colours I think you can get away with Barbie nails all year round!

ELF | Kabuki Face Brush

Hello Lovelies!

Awhile ago you've probably seen that I made a mahoosive ELF order. I had tried some ELF products before that and I really enjoyed the products that I got so I decided to pick up a few things that I've wanted to get for awhile. One of which was the Kabuki Face Brush.

Now would you believe I've actually never owned a kabuki brush before in my life. My mum owns the MAC 182 brush and I will say it is one of the most gorgeous, softest brushes I have ever felt...but I just couldn't pay the money for it. So I was on the hunt for a reasonably priced kabuki brush that was still really soft and lovely. So I decided to go for the ELF one because I did read a lot of good reviews about it and for €7 I thought I really couldn't go wrong.

Since owning this brush I have reached for it almost everyday. I love applying my powder with this (Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, review here) I think it applies it lovely and evenly. It's so super soft also and I haven't had any problems with shedding either which I was expecting from a cheap brush.

I would thoroughly recommend you give this brush a try. I think it really is brilliant value for money so you really can't go wrong! It's available online to buy here

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

Hello Lovelies!

Start of another week, but the countdown to Christmas is properly on now so I don't find Mondays so horrible lately! I'm still going with my Christmas shopping, I think this is the most organized I've ever been around this time of the year! Woo! I have my Christmas work night out on the 15th and I literally have no idea what to wear! What does one wear to a work night out? I think we're going for a meal and drinks after but I don't want to go too OTT!

Back when Boots had their 3 for 2 sale I bought alot...ALOT. But one of the things I picked up was this pressed powder by Rimmel in the shade "Peach Glow". This was the item I got free as it was the cheapest out of the three things I was buying but I think it was around the €5-6 mark, which in my opinion is a complete bargain and I will tell you why.

My skin is normal/combination. I tend to get quite oily around my chin and more dry in my t-zone area so normally I would try to avoid powder because I used to associate it with cakiness and that "powdery" look that no-one likes! But when I was in Boots I picked this up kind of on a whim because I was at the Rimmel stand buying the Match Perfection Foundation and the Lasting Finish 25hr Foundation (if you would like me to review, let me know!) and I needed a third thing so I decided to just give it a go. I picked the shade Peach Glow purely because I think it was the only one left. I'm never really that fussed about the different "shades" of powder that I get, I think they're all pretty much the same as long as they're not too dark for me!

I apply this after my foundation with my ELF Kabuki brush. I gently push it into my skin because I've heard that if you brush it on it wipes off the foundation so that would kind of defeat the purpose really.  It does a really good job at helping with the longevity of my make up without looking chalky or too powdery, and it also helps keep the oiliness at bay!

The only downside of this product for me is the packaging. I can't bring it out with me in my handbag because the lid has a tendency to come off and powder is not something I would like all over the inside of my bag funnily enough! But for the price I can't really complain. It's totally worth it and I will definitely be repurchasing this!

Have you tried out this powder guys? Oh and please let me know what your recommendations are for my Christmas night outfit!

November Favourites

Hello Lovelies!

Its nearly Christmassss! I'm so excited! I love love love Christmas, It's the best time of year. I've started my Christmas shopping and everything, and trust me for me that is a big deal. Normally I'm running around like a mad woman on the last weekend trying to find stuff! So be proud!

So since it is the end of another month it's favourites time! And this month I've had quite a few favourites which again I'm quite proud of because normally it takes me ages to think of what I can put in my favourites every month. I was so organized this month I wrote down everything I knew I'd want to put in these favourites so I wouldn't be clueless at the end of the month!

Revlon Lip Butters
Now I think I need a slap on the wrist because I've only tried the lip butters in the last two months or so. I know I know where have I been? But oh my goodness they are amazing! I've got two colours Lollipop and Creme Brule which I bought off the lovely Becky earlier this month. I've been wearing these all month and I love them! I love the way they feel on the lips and they way they look! I do think they are overpriced though!

ELF Mist Set & Spray
You will have seen this in my haul the other day about all the ELF goodies I picked up recently. The Set & Spray was something I wanted to pick up for ages but never got around to doing it. But I haven't regreted it at all! When I've finished all my make up I just spritz one or two sprays on my face (which is scarier than you'd think when you've just finished your whole face of make up!) to set my make up, and I've found that it really does help the longevity of my make up throughout the day!

Barry M Raspberry
A nail polish I have worn through the whole month is Barry M's Raspberry. I've loved this nail polish for ages but lately I have just become obsessed and there is just no going back! I think it's a gorgeous colour for winter months so I have plenty of months wear left in it! It is in the same family as Essie Bahama Mama which was in my last favourites but it is a lighter more berry version...if that makes sense!

Nivia Toner
This was abit of a random purchase at the start of the month for me, I was in Tesco and it was in the reduced section for €1.99 so I just thought why not? I am abit of a toner fiend so even if I don't like it, it didn't break the bank! But I can tell you I do love it! I think it may have taken over my love for alot of other toners. It's just so amazingly soothing and it smells devine! I would definitely recommend trying it out if you love toners as much as I do!

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
This was one of my many purchases during the Boots 3 for 2 offer (alot of damage was done during that time!) and it was one of my unexpected purchases! I got it in the shade Peach Glow, if I was to buy another one I would probably just get it in transparant but I still really love it! I think it smells lovely which is a weird thing to say about a powder but it does! I use it to set my powder on days I'm not using my Elf Set and Spray, and again I find it really does help my make up last all day!

MAC Omega Eyeshadow
I bought this eyeshadow back during the Summer and since then I have gotten so much use out of it's unreal! I've done a review on it here. I use it to fill in my eyebrows, to contour and as an actual eyeshadow. I reach for it literally everyday for one or all of these things and I love it so much! I would be so lost with out it!

Bioderma
Another item I have reviewed awhile ago here and I am still loving it! I use this to freshen up in the mornings or to remove my make up before I cleanse using my Cleanse and Polish to help save that. I find it does take off the majority of my make up but I do try not to use it everyday because it's probably not the best for your skin.

L'occitine Hand Cream
I got this free with a magazine I think it was Marie Clare last month but I'm not sure. But since then this has been on my bedside table and I reach for it every night. I do still love my Soap and Glory Hand Food but I found that the L'occitine hand cream is of a thicker consistency so I like to apply this before I go to bed for some deep hand conditioning!

I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here
Bit of a random favourite this month is I'm a Celeb! I'm really going to miss it when it finishes tonight, and I really like the girls so it'll be great for either of them to win. I was so surprised that David went last night though! The best part of that show is definitely Ant and Dec!

So that is my November favourites everyone! Hope you like them. Incase you're wondering the roadworks are still going on outside my house. Totally awkward because everyday I have to walk to get my lift to work and they're always there. Someone make them go away!
