Tan Ban

Hello Lovelies!

I wanted to write today about a new thing I'm trying.
I have decided I'm going on a Tan Ban. Yes thats right the girl who has always at least on layer of tan on, who has been compared to an Oompa Lumpa (I'm not that bad trust me) had decided to hang up my tanning mitts and go for the pale look.

I do have an ulterior motive in doing this I will admit. My boyfriends sister is getting married in September and I'm bridesmaid, so until then I will not be tanning as I want my tan to look really good on the day instead of looking the same as every other day.

I hope you can all support me in this time of need (I will need it trust me! haha)

Say bye bye Tan Danielle and hello pale- almost see-through -Danielle!

MAC | Naked Lip Liner

Hello Lovelies!

This is the last purchase from my MAC haul. I repurchased my beloved Hue lipstick but I wanted something to go along with it to make it last a little longer, as I find that I am constantly topping up my lipstick through out the day and my lipsticks run out alot quicker. I am a massive fan of my nudes & pink lipsticks so I thought I would make a little investment in a nude lip liner.

I love wearing lip liner when I'm wearing a red or more brighter colours because I think it makes your lips look bigger and neater and it also makes the colour last longer.

I never thought of purchasing a nude lip liner because I didn't think it would make that much of a difference but since adding this to my collection the difference is amazing! It does make my lips look bigger and better but I find that I don't need to re apply my lipstick as much.

It is a lovely pinky peach "natural" colour so you would get away with wearing this under so many lipsticks so I know I will get my money's worth out of this (€15 incase you were wondering...sob!)

MAC | Omega

Hello Lovelies!

Today I'm showing you another part of my MAC splurge. It's not the most exciting thing in the world but I have had this on my MAC list for so long I decided enough was enough and I bought it.

I bought the eyeshadow in Omega. I have wanted this eyeshadow for ages because I have read so much about it and how versatile it is. It can be used for eyebrows, contouring and of course as an eyeshadow!

The girl who was working at the MAC counter was so lovely and she showed how it would work in all these different ways for me and I have to say I was so impressed with the effect it gave on my brows.
It is a matt creamy eyeshadow and it has already taken its place in my (slowly) growing MAC pallet..eeep!

Models Own Disco Ball Collection

Hello Lovelies!

I just seen this on Facebook and couldn't contain my excitement. As you all know I'm a big fan of nail polishes and in particular glitter polishes. So when I seen the Models Own A/W '12 collection I may have eeeeep'd a little.

Look how pretty!

There is five colours released called Disco Inferno, Hot Stuff, Freak Out, Dancing Queen & Boogie Nights.
Freak Out: This is the blue one
Disco Inferno: This is the gold sparkly one
Dancing Queen: The Green and blue mixed one
Hot Stuff: This is the pinky gold one
and finally Boogie Nights: This is my favourite- the purple, blue and pinky one!

I am so fricking excited about this being released. Its meant to launch in Boots on the 3rd of October but it should be on the website before that. They're going to have limited edition metallic tops at the beginning of the launch for the first while.

I know that Boogie Nights and Disco Inferno will definatly be in my life this winter!

Excitement!

Favourite Perfume of the Moment

Hello Lovelies!

Just a quick post to day to show you the perfume that I have been loving over the past while.
Its called Hidden Fantasy by Britney Spears.

I've actually had this perfume for quite a while but never really wore it until this week. I'm not brilliant at describing scents so I went to my good friend Google who said...The fragrance features sweet orange, tangerine, grapefruit blossom, verbena, clove, Napolitano cake, Stargazer lily, Sambac jasmine, vanilla bean, Jacaranda wood, sandalwood and amber.

So there you are! I have been wearing this pretty much none stop for the past week. I also love that you don't need to keep topping it up as the smell lingers for quite a while after you spray.

I've gotten quite a few complements on my perfume this week..everybody loves a good compliment right?

MAC | Melba

Hello Lovelies!

You all know I love my blushers, and at the weekend I decided to go mad and buy yet another one! And the one that I picked out was MAC's Melba.

It is a gorgeous matt peachy colour. I don't own many peachy coloured blushes so I considered it to be only right to pick that one up. I would be more inclined to pick up a matt blush as opposed to a shimmery one because I think it's more use-able..for both day and night and as you all know I'm not the most adventurous person with my make up (boring I know).

The only thing I would say about this is that I paid €22.50..for a blusher. I felt a tiny bit sick handing over that amount of money for it but I know I will use it all the time so I will get value for my money.

I haven't actually gotten to use it all that much lately because I got bit on my cheek and its gotten really horrible looking so I'm trying not to put as much make up on as I normally would just to try and make it go away quicker! The one time I did put on this blusher it just really didn't help the situation so I'm waiting for my skin to clear up a bit and then I will have lovely peachy cheeks and I can not wait!

Top Five | Eyeliners

Hello Lovelies!

Today I wanted to show you my top five favourite eyeliners. I'm a big fan of eyeliners. It was one of the first make up items that I ever used...imagine panda eyes..Oh yes I was cool! But ever since then I have hopefully improved a bit! So I thought I would show you some of the eyeliners I find myself reaching for the most!

L'Oreal Super Liner Carbon Gloss

This is the only liquid liner I have used for the past year. I am simply obsessed. It is the blackest black liquid liner I have ever found. It lasts the whole day on me and the applicator makes it so easy to do a variety of different looks..thick, thin, big flick, subtle flick, the possibilities are endless!

Rimmel Jet Black

My go to black eyeliner! Its the loveliest black eyeliner. So easy to apply, I really don't like eyeliners that are really hard and scratch your eye as you apply them -ick!- But this one is so lovely and soft. It is really long wearing and I find Rimmel have great quality eyeliners for really good prices!

Lancome Black Coffee

This is the liner I would reach for more for a day to day look. Its a lovely deep brown so it's not as harsh looking, so it's perfect for a more natural look. I love this pencil because again I don't find it too hard so that its not too difficult to get the desired colour- one stroke and you've got it. I think I got this in a little gift set and I literally think it will last me forever as I've barely used any of it and I've had it nearly a year!

Pixi Endless Silky Pen Oyster Glow

This must be the tenth time I have mentioned this beaut on my blog so I won't bore you any more. Instead I will link you to my post on it here

Illamasqua Medium Pencil Vow

Yet again another eyeliner I have raved about before! So here is the link to my post!

Hope you enjoyed reading about my top five favourite eyeliners!

MAC | Twinks

Hello Lovelies!

Continuing on with my little make up splurge as of late. I went to MAC and bought a good chunk of items that were on my 'To Buy' list. But of course since leaving the counter I have added so many more items to my list so it was not a good trip for my bank balance!

I thought I would show you some of the things I picked up and wanted to start with one of the items I am most excited about which is MAC's Twinks.

Twinks is a gorgeous deep brown eyeshadows with purpley undertones to it. It is a shimmery eyeshadow which I normally don't go for but as I said before I'm stepping out of my comfort zone so I will wear this! I adore this colour so much! I know it doesn't look like much and my swatches really do not do it justice...If you live near a MAC store/counter please go and swatch it and bask in its loveliness!

Inglot Purchase

Hello Lovelies!

If you follow me on twitter you will already know about my little trip to Inglot during the week. Since I live in the middle of no-where you will appreciate my excitement about this. If you have read my blog before you will also know my love-affair with Inglot. Having bought my first eyeshadow pallet from them nearly 2 months ago I fell in love. I love everything about their eyeshadows..the range of colours, the pigmentation, the quality of the eyeshadows and of course the prices!

So it was only fitting that after buying my neutral browns pallet that I should get a smoky eye pallet. I realised while looking through my make up collection that I am lacking in black/grey eyeshadows. I'm not normally one for a smoky eye but I am stepping out of my comfort zone as of late so I am determined to change up my eye look more (what an exciting life I live..)

So here is the absolute beauty that is my pallet...

I got the full pallet for €36...€36!!

Considering that one eyeshadow from MAC is over €11 and the Inglot eyeshadows are just as good (if not better) quality, I think I will definitely be sticking with Inglot for awhile - as much as I love MAC, my bank account definitely does not!

Top Five | Mascaras

Hello Lovelies!

If you know me you will know my obsession with mascaras. I'm constantly on the hunt for the perfect mascara that will give me volume and length without making my lashes look clumpy. So while on this hunt I have obviously tried loads of mascaras. So here are my top five mascaras..of the moment!

 No.7 Exquisite Curl

This is the mascara that I use mostly on my bottom lashes. I find that the brush has the perfect curve to grab all the tiny lashes on the bottom. It makes them look lovely and full and doesn't leave any clumps ever. I always stock up on this whenever the No.7 vouchers are going around in Boots.

 Maybelline Falsies

This is one of my favourites for achieving volumous lashes. I used to use the original falsies mascara but then they released this one with the the new brush and I find that this brush works so much better. I find it grabs the lashes more and coats them all equally in the mascara.

 Rimmel Scandal Eyes

This is a more recent addition to my mascara collection. I will admit the only reason that bought this was because of the eye catching packaging (nice work there Rimmel) But since using it I find that it makes my lashes look massive! Its not a great one for length but when I wear it its like wearing short false eyelashes with the amount of volume and thickness I get from it.

 MAC Opulash

I bought this mascara aaaages ago but I still really like it. Its abit similar to the Rimmel Scandal Eyes mascara but it gives a more natural look to your lashes. Its a more expensive mascara but I find it is worth it. It does smell abit which is abit weird for a mascara but I suppose I don't spend much time sniffing my eyelashes!

Benefit They're Real

This is my absolute favourite mascara. I could not go a week without having this in my make up bag. It just does everything I could ever want a mascara to do! It gives my lashes length and volume. The amount of people that have asked me if I'm wearing false eyelashes while wearing this mascara is unbelieveable. It is definatyly worth the €25 (ouch) I paid for!

Have you any recommendations for new mascaras for me to try?

Top Five | Lipsticks

Hello Lovelies!

Continuing on with my top five series again and today I'm showing you my top five favourite lipsticks. I absolutely adore lipstick, I think it can completely transform your look and if you were in a rush to make yourself look glamourous a quick coat of lipstick and you're ready to go!

I am a great lover of the nude lip but lately I have been venturing out into the world of the coloured lip...and it is quite a scary place! So I've started out slow.

MAC Hue

This is my favourite lipstick of all time. I wear it every single day without fail. In my opinion it is the perfect nude lip but it is also nice enough to wear on a night out also. Its a 'your lips but better' lipstick and its smells lovely like all the MAC lipsticks, which I love!

Rimmel Nude Delight

This is my second nude lipstick that I adore. This is a more flesh coloured nude compared to Hue which is more pinky. It gives a very natural look to the lips and it doesn't look like you've just wiped concealer on your lips which is not a good look for anybody to be honest. I'm not the biggest fan of the packaging because I think it looks abit tacky and cheap...but I suppose we all need abit of tackiness in our lives!

Rimmel Kate Number 01

This is my go-to red lipstick. I love this colour so much I wore it on my 21st night out! It has defiantly been through the wars the poor thing but I really do love it. It doesn't have a name which makes me a little sad but I can get past that!

Revlon Cherries in the Snow

You've all heard me harp on about this a million times before so I won't dwell on it too much. The colour is just right up my street. It's so pretty and unusual. If I'm going out and I don't fancy going all out with a red lip this is definatly the lipstick I would reach for. I've started to wear this day-to-day as well. The packaging of this lipstick is my favourite out of all my favourites. I don't know what it is about it but it makes me feel all glamourous when I pull it out of my handbag.

Topshop Infared

No top five lipsticks would be complete with out the signature orange lipstick. I never considered orange to be a colour that would look flattering on the lips. But then I started to see more and more orange lipsticks popping up all over the place so I took the plunge and purchased this one and I am sooo glad I did! It was the first piece of Topshop make up I purchased and it has set the bar high for the other products they do. I would happily wear this lipstick everyday as it's bright enough to be abit daring but not so bright that I feel totally exposed. The packaging is quite cute also, gets very dirty very quickly though!

I hope you enjoyed reading about my favourite lipsticks. Please let me know what your top five are!

Top Five | Blushes

Hello Lovelies!

I thought I would start a little series of my top five favourite make up items in each little category there is. So this week I wanted to start with blushes. Previously I was extremely boring and unadventurous with my choices of blush and I'd normally find a blush and stick with it until I ran out of it. It was only really in the past year that I have started to dabble in the world of cream blushes and more brightly coloured blushes. So here are my top five favourites!

Illamasqua Sob

This was the very first product I've bought from Illamasqua and I was pleasantly surprised that it lived up to the hype as a brand. This is a cream blusher and it is a gorgeous baby pink colour that gives a lovely healthy glow to the cheeks

Sleek Life's a Peach

This is a recent purchase. Its my summertime colour for when I have a bit of a tan on. I normally pair this with a neutral eye and Topshop's Infared on my lips!

Sleek Rose Gold

One of Sleeks more famous products which is hailed to be a dupe for the infamous NARS Orgasm. It is a gorgeous deep pink colour that leaves a lovely sheen on the skin - I normally skip the highlighter with this one!

MAC Mocha

My first ever blush I bought and as you can see it's really well loved! I normally wear this more in the winter time as it gives a lovely rosy look. It also has no shimmer at all in it so its great for a more natural look. It looks great with and without a tan so I feel it would suit most skin tones.

Becca Beach Tint

I received this in a GlossyBox a few months back and has become a firm favourite ever since. Another cream blusher so it can be used for a subtle look but you can also build it up to get a more dramatic look for night time. I also love the packaging for this one as you can control the amount you use and  its very hygienic.

Please let me know top five make up items you would like to see next!
