Barry M Matte Nail Paints

Hello Lovelies!

As I mentioned in my Barry M palette review, I picked up two of their nail paints while I was purchasing that. (I have an uncontrollable addiction to Barry M polishes) A few weeks ago I posted about the Barry M Matte Nail Paint in Crush and all about my love for it, well I just had to pick up two other shades from this range. There are five colours in the range altogether but these three are definitely my top picks and I probably won't bother buying the other two, which are a matte black and a yellow toned nude shade.

The new additions to my matte nail polish collection are Mocha and Vanilla. First of all I just want to comment on how appropriate I think the names are. They are just amazing and really suit the shades so well! Mocha a deep beigey-brown (excellent description there I know...) and Vanilla is a light nude shade. Vanilla actually reminds me alot of Lychee from the Gelly Hi Shine range but in a matte version which is brilliant because sometimes we're not in the mood for a whole load of shine!

Since I don't wear a top coat with these polishes the wear-time is actually really good considering! They would last a good three days without chipping. The thing I did notice though, and I did mention this in my previous post too is that the matte effect can tend to wear off and it starts to become a bit shiny. That being said that is the only minor criticism I have with these polishes. I love them so much and I have been switching between these three colours for the past few weeks. I would love if they brought out some pastel shades for Spring/Summer because I am obsessed with matte nails at the moment!

What do you think of the matte nail trend? Yay or nay?

  4. I think matte paints look amazing on really long nails but I think they make my fairly short nails look even stubbier! All three of these shades do look gorgeous though and for the price, they make me want to have another go with matte nail paints!

  11. I have a Revlon matte nail polish and the colour is so pretty when it's first applied, but then once it dries matte it's a bit disappointing. These colours look great though!
