Cosmopolitan Blend Perfection Sponge

Hello Lovelies!

Thank you all so much for your birthday tweets and messages! It really made my day!

On a recent trip to Superdrug I picked up the Cosmopolitan Blend Perfection Sponge. I had been looking for a beauty sponge for awhile, since I seen the Beauty Blender online I really wanted one but wasn't prepared to spend over a tenner on one! So when I recently made a trip to my nearest (one hour away) Superdrug I had this straight in my basket! I've been using this to apply my make up for the past couple of weeks and I absolutely love it! I've mainly been using it to apply my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation (which you all know I love) and it has really changed the way the foundation has looked on my skin!

To use the sponge you have to wet it and squeeze out the excess water, the sponge will have doubled in size because of the water. The idea is that you're supposed to "bounce" the foundation onto your skin with the sponge, I use light bouncing (how weird does that sound) and stippling motions to apply my foundation. It gives a gorgeous natural finish to my foundation and doesn't leave me looking cakey or that I'm wearing too much foundation! I find it so easy to build up coverage with the sponge compared to using brushes.

Since using the Sponge I've actually noticed that my make-up has stayed on longer though-out the day and I don't need to touch up as often! I would really recommend trying out this Sponge, especially if you're considering trying the Beauty Blender it might be a good (cheaper) alternative for you!

  1. I love this, makes foundation looks so much better. Bit of a pain to clean though I find-really holds it in!

  3. I love applying my foundation with my Crown Buffer brush, but I do like the look of foundation when applied with a sponge. This post has really tempted me to try one! :)

  5. I have really wanted to try this.. but I read on a blog that it wasn't very good. But since that one post, I've seen a lot of positive posts like yours :D I think I am going to have to give it a go! It's so cheap, and I really like the Cosmopolitan range.. their eyeshadow brushes are really good quality! xx

  6. Ooh I really want to try one of these! I'll have to keep an eye out for one. Do you feel like it wastes any product? Do you wash it after every use? xx

  9. I am tempted to get one of these but wasn't sure if it would soak up my foundation too much and send me through products like there's no tomorrow! Does it use up a lot of extra foundation do you think?

  10. I was sent one of these by a fellow blogger and I fell in love. I do kind of agree with Rachel's comment above though - I do seem to use more product.
